What is a PRI circuit? Could we benefit from one?

Traditionally, you pay for each of your phone lines individually. Each conversation consumes one of those lines and only one number can be assigned to each line. A PRI (Primary Rate Interface) circuit allows 23 simultaneous, digital-quality voice conversations on one circuit. Once the PRI is in place, you can assign unlimited telephone numbers to it, including your published numbers, fax numbers, private numbers, numbers
that ring to informational mail boxes or more. PRIs help your receptionist concentrate on new calls and other important priorities while the PRI itself routes repeat calls or private calls directly to your end-users by allowing each user to have a DID (Direct Inward Dial) number. This allows each end user to have their own phone number, allowing them to be contacted directly, while still being available through the main number and receptionist.

PRI circuits can also save your company money. If your local phone bill is over $ 500.00 or you have more than, say 13 traditional telephone (copper) lines, please call us at Central Virginia Communications. We can provide valuable, field-proven advise on how you may benefit from a PRI circuit.

Many companies have realized significant savings by switching to a PRI circuit - so much so that they’ve offset the cost of their new phone system and still had notable savings to their monthly technology budget.
